La Boutique opened its doors in Oslo with a desire to offer something different from what you find in the large chain stores. Not an overwhelming selection of hundreds of items, but a carefully curated collection where every single garment has been chosen with intention. We believe in having fewer, but better things -- clothing that you actually look forward to putting on each morning. Our collection is built around By Basics, a Danish brand that shares our passion for natural fibres and timeless design. Where many shops chase the latest trends and fast fashion, we have chosen a different path. We select garments in merino wool, Bubble Wool, linen, and cotton -- materials chosen for their natural properties, their durability, and their ability to grow more beautiful with time. Shopping at La Boutique is a personal experience. We know every garment we sell -- we know how it fits, how it feels, and how it is best cared for. When you order from us, it is not an anonymous transaction through a large e-commerce system. It is the beginning of a conversation. By Basics
By Basics is a Danish clothing brand with a clear philosophy: to create timeless garments in natural materials that last. The brand was founded on the conviction that good design does not need to be complicated – it is about clean lines, carefully considered materials, and colours that harmonise with one another. The collection spans from the signature Bubble Wool to classic merino wool, linen, cotton, and bamboo. Studio Skadal is the Norwegian distributor for By Basics, and La Boutique is proud to be a selected retailer. We do not carry the full catalogue – we hand-pick the styles and colours we believe best represent the quality and aesthetic our customers appreciate.

Bubble Wool is By Basics’ signature quality – a material you will not find anywhere else. The unique bubble structure creates a soft, airy garment that is surprisingly lightweight and wonderfully warm.
Merino Wool
Merino wool is nature’s finest wool fibre. It is extremely soft, temperature-regulating, and naturally antibacterial. The ultimate year-round material.
Linen
Linen is one of the world’s oldest and most sustainable textiles. It is naturally breathable, dries quickly, and becomes softer with every wash.
Cotton & Bamboo
Cotton and bamboo are the soft companions of everyday life. Hypoallergenic and gentle against the skin – perfect as base layers.
The most sustainable garment is the one you wear for years. We have chosen to fill our shop with clothing in natural materials – wool, linen, cotton, and bamboo – because they last longer, feel better, and have a far smaller footprint than synthetic alternatives. We support small-batch production and a slower, more considered relationship with fashion. Fewer, better garments. That is our approach.
